One year celebration...

It dawned on me...hahaha, I used Melissa's middle name, and Dawn's first name in a sentence...

Okay but seriously, it dawned on me that this weekend... will be my one year anniversary of moving to Boise!

I moved out here at the end of August with everythi ng that I could possibly fit into my little '95 Buick Century... so I came out here with basically nothing.

It's absolutely amazing to me how much i've grown... I got hired to my first job out of college, just two days after I got here... and to my disbelief, I still work there. There have been a lot of downs-- and not as many ups in the last year with my job, but lately, everything has been looking up... and I'm ready for whatever they throw at me.

In the last year i've also met some great people... and had some very good times doing things that I could never do before... drive 10 minutes and be at a lake to waterski, wakeboard and drink beer all day on a boat, or drive two hours and be in the mountains that remind me of places I could only go with my family on vacations when I was younger.

I've also single-handedly furnished my own apartment, that actually looks NICE and homey, and clean... one that when people walk in, they tell me how much they love it!

And i've even bought my first car, and it's actually nice. It's not one that I make jokes about everytime I am about to get in... "Pedro, my *insert racial slur here** ride."

Either way... i'm so proud of myself-- for having done everything on my own the last year... and I didn't think i'd be staying in Boise long. It initially started out as a temporary move while Sean was in Afghanistan, and it has turned into a place that I know i'll be for a very long time.

And thanks to my amazing friends that i've met in Boise... that have showed me everything it has to offer.

To celebrate my one year anniversary in the "City of Trees"... I will be drinking all day long at Tour de Fat, dressed up like a CHAMPION in a goofy outfit.

P.S.

I still don't agree with Boise being called the "City of Trees"... we live in the desert, and if you look around... and in the foothills, everyone knows that the trees that are here-- aren't here by choice... I think Boise should be called "The City of tons to do, and lots to drink."

What a facebook message can do... =)

About two weeks ago, one of my best friends from back home in Grand Forks, ND left me a message on my "facebook wall."

What she didn't realize-- is that it would end up being the very message I turn to when i'm in need of a smile.

Thank you Bizzy!! I miss you too!!!!!
"The pink zippy reminds me of you...
Journey reminds me of you...
Bermuda shorts remind me of you...
Bicardi Raz reminds me of you...
Stuffing egg rolls into my purse reminds me of you...
Nacho cheese dip reminds me of you...
Every where I turn there is a reminder of what once was.
I miss you Kelsey Jacobson!"
